Project diligence
Review the screenplay, creative team, rights and chain of title, budget, schedule, market positioning, financing plan, and material risks.
For prospective investors
Film investment can put private capital behind a singular creative vision. It also asks for patient capital, rigorous diligence, and a clear understanding that outcomes are never guaranteed.
Our approach
13 Khutz is a filmmaker-first production company focused on independent horror and genre films under $5 million. We develop projects around a defined audience, practical production planning, and a theatrical ambition.
Where a project qualifies, tax incentives may form part of its financing plan. Every film stands on its own: its budget, package, financing structure, distribution path, and risk profile require separate evaluation.
How a film investment takes shape
The exact structure varies by project. A serious review typically follows three stages.
Review the screenplay, creative team, rights and chain of title, budget, schedule, market positioning, financing plan, and material risks.
Capital is deployed under project-specific documents and an approved budget to produce, finish, and deliver the film.
Any return depends on actual revenues, distribution agreements, expenses, and the project’s negotiated recoupment waterfall. Timing and results can vary widely.
Risk belongs in the room
Independent film investments are speculative and may be illiquid. A film may exceed its budget, face delays, fail to secure distribution, generate insufficient revenue, or never recoup its investment. An investor must be able to bear the loss of some or all invested capital.
If 13 Khutz makes a project-specific investment opportunity available, prospective investors should expect definitive offering materials, eligibility review, risk disclosures, subscription documents, and the opportunity to ask questions before deciding. Investors should consult their own legal, tax, and financial advisers.
